The AQÜEDUCTE Biennials result from the development of a Provincial Exhibition which was first held in 1969, the same year the Group was founded.Since then, an edition was organised each year up to 1989.
On this basis and at the rate of one edition a year, 21 national editions were organised.
In 1990, the first international version was held under the name of "AQÜEDUCTE 90, 1st International Photography Biennial."
Since then, every two years AQÜEDUCTE has invited photographers from all over the world to participate in the Biennial, which has tried out new formulas in each renewed edition. In just ten years, it has found the path to become one of the leading and most prestigious photographic events in the world.
