The
“l’Aplec de Sant Iscle” photography competition
was first organized in 1976 to promote a local festival that
we have celebrated in our town for a long time.
This competition has gained a lot of popularity and resonance
among the people of Cerdanyola as well as the diverse communities
in the region.
From its beginnings, the competition has changed over time
and has evolved as much in the monitary value of its prizes
as in the importance of winning the trophy.
In 1994 the XIX edition was celebrated and for the first time
in its history admitted color photographs. This gave the competition
a new and “current”dimention it lacked before.
The 100th anniversary of Sant Iscle y Santa Victoria, AFOCER
published a book “images of Aplec de Sant Iscle, 1976-1995”,
in which brought together a selection of 93 photos from 56
different photographers who produced prize winning works from
the last 20 years of competitions.
Like all of our neighborhood photographers know, each november
we have a gathering at the hermitage of Sant Iscle to enjoy
a day in nature that not only allows us to contemplate a showing
of all of the winning photographs since the competition´s
beginnings, but also permits us to obtain the best images
to be able to participate in the newest edition of the already
classic comtest “l’Aplec de Sant Iscle”. |
